Using slanted C2C (Corner to Corner) blocks made IN THE ROUND you will learn how to make this fun square!

Crochet C2C Style Square In The Round WRITTEN PATTERN

Abbreviations:

โ—     Ch = Chain

โ—     Ch sp = Chain space

โ—     DC = Double crochet

โ—     HDC = Half double crochet

โ—     SC = Single crochet

โ—     Rep = Repeat

โ—     St = Stitch


Crochet C2C Style Square

Foundation Row: Ch 7.

Round 1: Starting in the fourth ch from the hook, make 1 DC in each ch across. This makes the central block.

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Attach the next colour in the ch 3 sp.

 

Round 2: You will be working each of the following blocks as outward petals around the central block.

Ch 3 and make 3 DC in the ch 3 sp. Ch 3 and sl st into the same space. Ch 6 and skipping the first 3 ch, make 1 DC in each ch across. Sl st between the last two DC of Row 1. Ch 3 and make 3 DC in the same space. Ch 3 and sl st into the same space. Ch 6 and skipping the first 3 ch, make 1 DC in each ch across. Sl st in the ch 3 sp at the beginning of the round.

Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Attach the next colour in the ch 3 sp of the elongated side block of the previous row.

 

Round 3: For the top and bottom ch 3 sp, make ch 3, 3 DC, ch 3, and sl st into the same space.

For the side blocks, ch 6, skip 3 ch, 1 DC in each ch across to create a new block, and sl st into the following ch 3 sp.

For the blocks in between, depending on which side youโ€™re on, you will either make 3 DC, ch 3, and sl st into the same space or ch 3, 3 DC, and sl st into the following ch 3 sp (ensuring that thereโ€™s a ch 3 sp at the OUTER EDGE where the next round of blocks will go into).

Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Attach the next colour in the ch 3 sp of the elongated side block of the previous round.

 

Rounds 4-onward: Rep round 3.

 

Attach the last colour in the ch 3 sp of the elongated side block of the previous round with 1 standing SC.

 

Second-to-Last Round: (squaring off your edges)

Make 1 SC in the same space.

For this side, in each ch 3 sp across until you reach the corner, make (1 DC, 1 HDC, 1 SC).

In the corner block, make 1 SC, (1 SC, ch 2, 1 SC), and 1 SC.

For this side, in each ch 3 sp across until you reach the next corner, make (1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 DC).

In the ch 3 sp of the corner block, make 2 SC, ch 2, and 2 SC. 

For this side, in each ch 3 sp across until you reach the corner, make (1 DC, 1 HDC, 1 SC).

In the corner block, make 1 SC, (1 SC, ch 2, 1 SC), and 1 SC.

For this side, in each ch 3 sp across until you reach the corner, make (1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 DC).

In the ch 3 sp of the corner block, make 2 SC and 1 HDC to join.

 

Last Round: Make 1 stacked DC (stacked DC = 2 SC one on top of the other) and 1 DC in the same space.

Make 1 DC in each st across and for each corner ch sp, make (2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC). At the end of the round, make 2 DC and ch 2 in the corner you started in and sl st to join.

Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Weave in the ends!
