Crochet Braid Stitch [Free Video Tutorial & Written Pattern!]
Ever heard of the Braid Stitch? This tall crochet stitch is a sort of combination mash up of herringbone crochet and a treble (USA terms) and makes for a fab fast stretchy stitch.
With the added bonus of a beautifully straight edge, it makes it the ideal stitch for scarves and blankets.

USA STITCH TERMS
Hook Size(s): according to your yarn
For my sample I used Cygnet Boho Spirit in the colour βHarmonyβ with a 4mm Hook
Abbreviations:
Β· Ch = Chain
Β· YO = Yarn over
Β· St = Stitch
Pattern multiple: any number plus 2
Foundation Row:
Make as many as required for your project plus 2.
You will begin by working in the third ch from the hook. Work a braid stitch in every ch.
Braid Stitch: YO two times, insert hook into st, YO, pull through the st and first loop on the hook, YO, pull through one loop on the hook, YO, pull through two loops on the hook, YO, and pull through two loops on the hook.
Turning: At the end of the row, make the last st on top of the st from the previous row. Then you will ch 2 and turn. This ch 2 DOES NOT count as the first st. Instead, youβll work a Braid Stitch into the same space.
Work the braid stitch for every stitch of your project.
Tie off, and weave in any loose ends.
