Hook Size(s): according to your yarn
For my sample I used Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze DK Prints in the shade โLlanbedrogโ and Pebble Haze DK in โMarbleโ with a 4mm hook
Abbreviations:
โ Ch = Chain
โ Ch sp = Chain space
โ DC = Double crochet
โ Inc = Increase
โ Rep = Repeat
โ St = Stitch
โ L-CL = Leafhopper Cluster Stitch
Leafhopper Cluster Stitch: *YO, insert hook around the st in the row below, pull up a loop* twice for 5 loops on the hook. YO and pull through 4 loops on the hook. Skip 1 st in the row below. *YO, insert hook around the st in the row below, pull up a loop* twice for 6 loops on the hook. YO and pull through 4 loops on the hook. YO and pull through all remaining loops on the hook.
Foundation Row: Ch multiples of 4 plus 3.
Row 1: Starting in the fourth ch from the hook, make 1 DC in each ch across.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as a DC st) and turn.
Rep *1 DC, 1 L-CL, skip 1 st, 2 DC* across. You will work the L-CL starting in the st below the DC you just made. Once youโve made an L-CL, you will skip the st directly BEHIND it.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as a DC st) and turn.
Make 1 DC in each st across.
Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as a DC st) and turn.
Rep *3 DC, 1 L-CL, skip 1 st* across.
End with 1 DC in each of the last 4 stitches.
Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as a DC st) and turn.
Make 1 DC in each st across.
Rows 6-onward: Rep rows 2-5 for as long as you like.
When youโve reached your desired length, fasten off and cut the yarn.
