USA STITCH TERMS

Hook Size(s): according to your yarn

For my sample I used Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze DK Prints in the shade โ€œLlanbedrogโ€ and Pebble Haze DK in โ€œMarbleโ€ with a 4mm hook

Abbreviations:

โ—      Ch = Chain

โ—      Ch sp = Chain space

โ—       DC = Double crochet

โ—      Inc = Increase

โ—      Rep = Repeat

โ—       St = Stitch

โ—       L-CL = Leafhopper Cluster Stitch

Leafhopper Cluster Stitch: *YO, insert hook around the st in the row below, pull up a loop* twice for 5 loops on the hook. YO and pull through 4 loops on the hook. Skip 1 st in the row below. *YO, insert hook around the st in the row below, pull up a loop* twice for 6 loops on the hook. YO and pull through 4 loops on the hook. YO and pull through all remaining loops on the hook.

Foundation Row: Ch multiples of 4 plus 3.

Row 1: Starting in the fourth ch from the hook, make 1 DC in each ch across.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as a DC st) and turn.

Rep *1 DC, 1 L-CL, skip 1 st, 2 DC* across. You will work the L-CL starting in the st below the DC you just made. Once youโ€™ve made an L-CL, you will skip the st directly BEHIND it.

Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as a DC st) and turn.

Make 1 DC in each st across.

Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as a DC st) and turn.

Rep *3 DC, 1 L-CL, skip 1 st* across.

End with 1 DC in each of the last 4 stitches.

Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as a DC st) and turn.

Make 1 DC in each st across.

Rows 6-onward: Rep rows 2-5 for as long as you like.

When youโ€™ve reached your desired length, fasten off and cut the yarn.
