Hook Size(s): according to your yarn
For my scarf (in the photos) I used 1 x 200g Ball of Jewelspun Yarn (shade Daybreak Delta) with a 5.5mm Hook.
My personal scarf measures approximately 7 inches (18cm) wide and 76 inches ( 193cm) in length EXCLUDING the tassels
Abbreviations:
โข Ch = Chain
โข HDC = Half Double crochet
โข St = Stitch
โข Rep = Repeat
Foundation Row: Ch an even number for as wide as you want your project to be. ( For my scarf, I chained 26 )
For this row you may want to crochet a bit more loosely than normal, if you are a tight crocheter maybe go up a hook size- just for this foundation row.
Row 1: Starting in the second ch from the hook, rep *2 HDC in same sp, skip 1 st* across.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Rep *Work in-between the two HDC sts from the previous row, place 2 HDC in sp.* across.
Repeat Row 2 until you reach the length you desire. Tie off and weave in ends.
Tassels
Cut strands of yarn, double the length you want your tassels to be. I used 3 strands for my tassels - for thicker tassels use more strands, for finer tassels use less :-)
Loop the strands in half over your finger.
Insert hook into the sp/st you want to add your fringe. I used the st I worked my HDC into for the foundation row, and on the other end, I placed it in-between the two HDC sts.
Using your hook, grab the looped strands from your finger and pull them through until you have a loop large enough to put two fingers through.
Grab the yarn strand tails through that loop with your fingers.
Pull slightly toward the base to secure. Once all your tassels are attached, smooth them out and trim with scissors to length.

Happy Crocheting!
