Crochet Olivia Flower Written Pattern

Crochet Olivia Flower Written Pattern

How to crochet this very simple yet elegant crochet flower. With 6 lightly curling petals, it gives beautiful 3D texture OR you can squash it flat if you prefer! Perfect for attaching to hats, headbands or blankets - you could even use it as a garland ๐ŸŒธ I will be using mine for the Random Acts of Crochet Kindness project and have named it the "Olivia" flower after the wonderful Olivia Fletcher; the lovely lady behind the project ๐Ÿ˜Š

Once you have mastered the petal technique, you can crochet up these flowers very quickly making them a great fast project that looks far more complicated than it actually is ๐Ÿ˜‰

Pattern:

Make a magic ring.

Row 1: Ch 1 loosely (this does not count as a st) and make 12 DC in the ring. Pull the yarn tail to close the circle and sl st to join. Fasten off, cut the yarn, and weave in the ends. (12)

Row 2: Attach the second colour. Ch 5 and TR7tog in the same st (DO NOT close). Once you have eight loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through two loops at a time (Tunisian crochet style).

Make 2 SC (worked between two TR), (ch 2, 1 SC) between the third and fourth TR, 3 SC (worked between the remaining TR).

Ch 5 and sl st in the same st. Skip 1 st and sl st into the next. This completes the first petal.

Repeat from the beginning for five more petals.

Once you have six petals, tuck the curl sides under the petals.
