Watch the video below for an introduction to the Festival Pic β€˜n’ Mix Blanket CAL!

I've designed this Crochet Along to be SUPER relaxed and fun - you can pick and mix the squares to suit your own personal taste! Designed to be a bright chunky blanket, ideal for the summer - chuck it in your bag and take it to the park, camping, festivals or even your own back yard!

Perfect for the young, young at heart and all you fellow BRIGHT blanket fans 😎

Channeling 90's vibes, I hope you love this blanket!

Cherry pick the squares you like, use any yarn you fancy, join them however you prefer, put your favourite border on - it is FULLY customisable!

All the squares have the same stitch count and are a similar size so you don’t have to worry!

PLEASE NOTE: If you want to follow my blanket exactly, I used a Join AS YOU GO method for attaching my squares to each other. The video tutorial for the join is NOW LIVE so you can watch how it is done then decide if it is the joining method you would like to use for your blanket or whether you would prefer to use another joining method entirely :)

MATERIALS REQUIRED

Although this blanket has been designed for chunky yarn so your blanket grows quickly, you can use ANY yarn, ANY weight.

The yarn (and quantities) I used for my personal blanket is as follows:

Hayfield Bonus Chunky with a 6mm Hook in the following shades:

Black (3 balls)

White (3 balls)

Ladybird (1 ball)

Clementine (1 ball)

Cornfield (2 balls)

Bright Coral (1 ball)

Electric Pink (2 balls)

Azure (2 balls)

Lemongrass (2 balls)

Bluebell (1 ball)

Zest (1 ball)

Lavender (1 ball)

You will also need a pair of scissors, stitch markers (optional) and a large eyed needle for weaving in your ends.

I fully lined my blanket with fleece, I purchased a fun cow print fleece from Amazon HERE

The fleece is 100cm x 130cm - it was the perfect width but I did need to fold in the length before sewing it to my blanket.

Using the chunky yarn and the 6mm hook made my squares approximately 6 and a half inches in size.

If your squares come out with slightly differing sizes, DON’T PANIC! As you can see from the photo above, once they are joined you will not notice.

This blanket is designed to be fun and easy - not a stressful experience so please don’t worry, leave your perfectionism at the door! :D

My final blanket, including the border measures approximately 45 inches wide (114 cm) by 51 inches long (130cm)
