Amigurumi Crochet Whale Pattern

Crochet along with me step by step using the video (or written pattern) to make your own amigurumi whale! With a flat belly and big domed head, he is the perfect shelf sitter!

Materials Required:

2 Colours of Yarn - main colour for the body, white for the belly - I recommend Cygnet Chunky available to purchase HERE

Scrap of pink yarn for the blush

4mm Crochet Hook

12mm Safety Eyes

Scissors

Large Eye Needle

Polyfil Stuffing

USA STITCH TERMS

MR = Magic Ring

ch = chain

sc = single crochet

BLO = back loop only

inc = increase (2sc in same stitch)

dec = decrease

inv dec = invisible decrease

*  * repeat the pattern in between the asterix  X amount of times

() =number of stitches at the end of the round

Work in continuous spiral; do not join your work at the end of the rounds

Fins (make 2)

Cut yarn leaving long tail for sewing

Tail (make 2)

Cut yarn leaving long tail for sewing

Whale – main colour first – working from top of head down

Change to white yarn on last sc of round 16

Sew tails on vertically at colour change (end of row 16)  *please see video*

Once the tail is sewn on – find front of face, mark the center point (opposite side, in line with tail) and add eyes – between Rows 15 & 16, 16 stitches apart – 8 stitches from center point on each side *please see video if unclear*

Add blush one stitch behind eyes the sew fins on horizontally a stitch or 2 behind blush on same row *please see video*

Stuff the body!

Cut yarn, sew around last 6 stitches, sinch closed, weave in end!
